How to format Nokia N72, N73, N81, N95, NSeries Phones?

There have been numerous users who have asked me to this question and has been extremely saught question on different symbian forums. And when you look at them you will have numerous answers which can make you crazy and confused about true answer. So here are some simple ways to format your Nokia NSeries cell phones.
(Please do remember that some of the steps below will clean up all your data in phone so remember to make up backup copy of it. Otherwise you will end up loosing them forever.)
Method:1
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (call answer button, * button, and ‘3′ button.
3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.
4. When the message ‘Formatting’ appears on the screen, release all of the buttons.
Method: 2 ( Hard Format)
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down *#7370# button.
3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.
4. When the message ‘Formatting’ appears on the screen, release all of the buttons.
Method: 3 Soft Reset
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down *#7780# button.
3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.
4. When the message ‘Formatting’ appears on the screen, release all of the buttons.

Once you format you can not recover your applications on any mobile phone. You have to reinstall them.

Thanks for the tips. Now I am having a phone without the Gurbage. Can Any body give ant tips to upgrade Firmware of Nokia N72 without using Internet. Because I am behind a Firewall which preventing from upgrading the phone.

There was a virus attack on my mobile N72 whose blocked my mobile’s internal Memory. I have formatted my mobile by pressing “Green” button,”*” button, “3″ button method. After the format looks my memory got free.
Is there any chance that the virus again strike back. Does this method removed the virus permanently from by mobile.

In my nokia N72 my display keeps flickering all the time and it has become so much that i cannot even itentify what is there in the screen. Is it a problem of the display. Plz help me

Hi,
These steps are not working on my phone. I have nokia N81 and I forgot the lock code I changed. Although I am able to use the phone as it is unlocked but I CANT USE ANOTHER SIM as it asks for the lock code. I kindly request you to help me with this as the sim already in my phine is deactivated and I need to chnge the sim.

go ther and sign up for an account.. then select application… then type “code resetter” in the search option..
download the “code resetter” software and u can reset ur code…
