How to create RSS Feed for any webpage even if there is none?
By Techalites | May 15, 2008 | Topics: How To... | hacks-&-tips |
With the discovery of RSS and Atom, Browser’s use became very limited and many of the people started using RSS Reader like Google reader, feed demon for keeping themself updated with their favourite websites. After browsers like Firefox have started incorporating RSS Feed service in browser itself to make it more user friendly. But now problem is what to do when you do not have RSS feed for any webpage and you want to keep track of that page for latest updates. Simple example is i want to follow latest BSE announcements page on Bombay Stock Exchange website but unfortunately they do not offer any feeds. So i have to check their website regularly for update of announcement page.
So how to create RSS Feed for any webpage that do not offer feed service?
Tip 1 # Dapper= Data Mapper

Dapper.Com is a service which will allow you to map the data of any webpage the way you want. There are many options including RSS, XML, Goole Map, iCal and many more…
Simply write the full URL of webpage and choose either RSS or XML option and configure it the way you want to appear as feed. That’s all. You will receive link which you can add to your favourite RSS Reader and start enjoying convinience.
Tip 2 # Page2Rss

DailyBlogTips have recently added new service which will enable you similar service which is much easier as there are very few configuration. Also it has very easy to use website with very few technical jargons to deal with. I liked the simple interface they have. (Page2Rss)
