I have seen many people asking question like this in various forums and have expereinced similar situation once with my iPod as well. And since than i was looking for perfect solution for fixing the frozen iPod or iPod Touch or any other model like shuffel and nano. So far i have not found out perfect solution yet but beow are simple steps you can follow to fix the problem.
Hack : Resetting the iPod
All iPod comes with inbuilt functionality of resetting it to its factory setting.
But before doing the same check weather your
- hold key is at appropriate position and your iPod is indeed frozen. Resetting of iPod makes it as it is when manufactured in factory and you will end up loosing all data you have stored on it.
- Also make sure you have connected your iPod to battery adapter and frozen iPod is not because of low battery.
- Atleast try to reboot your iPod 3-4 times and see if the problem gets solved without resetting.
- Try to force iPod in disk mode if you can.
If everything above fails, go ahead with resetting:
1) Download Apple’s lastest iPod updater software and connect your iPod after forcing Disk mode and update firmware of your iPod. This trick will make your iPod as in factory setting, clean your hard drive.
2) Or reset it by depressing the “menu” and “select” (the center button) until the Apple logo appears.
