Plug 2 Surf is a useless device if u download very high volumes. The actual speed varies from few bits to 132 kbits(i.e. 17 KByte). Have a long wait schedule ready for files. 2700 is much to pay of for the speed but there are no other option better, atlest it is unlimited(if u can download as so.
Has anyone tried the IDEA data card sevice?
The dealer told me thet it has greater speed.

hi friends …..tata is the worst internet service provider according to me ….i am getting just 10 – 12 kbps speed….my friend bought EVDO from bsnl some days back … n he s getting 100 + kbps downloading speed in kashmir…. i think its better to switch over to bsnl evdo

Just brush up your knowledge it is not kilobytes its the kilobits ok.So to know the original speed of your wirless device just divide it by 8.You can get original download speed.I get 15 kbps of download speed.I am not happy with that speed.

i had purchased tataindicom netconnecter …….the company says it gives 128kbps but in real it does not gave more than 2 kbps .download speed is zero…i think it z better to purchase one aircell sim it gives almost 15kbps & monthly rental is onlt 98rupess…tata indicom charge us 800rupees ….

Dear friends with default settings speed of Tata Photon Whiz is 6 to 8 kbps .
But with optimised settings ( which I constantly tinker with to extract max juice) I get download ( constant speed ) of 15 to 18 kbps.
For torrent downloads the speed would be 13 to 15kbps (constant).
I know that its not much , but since its unlimited data download option makes it bearable.
my download speed was 15.kbps,,,,now i,m getting 75.kbps—–i have chage my settings,,,,,,,,,

TATA indicom device are nothing more then a cellphone’s GPRS capability, which is extracted from a cellphone and packed in that blue colored piece.
So don’t expect more speed from it.
Try connecting your GPRS enabled cell phone as USB modem to your computer and you will find out the similar speed.
Tell your friends and relatives to think before purchasing it….
